I often reflect on my choice to collaborate on a team with such strongly diverse perspectives.
“How can this be healthy and productive for crypto?”, I wonder.
It wasn’t until I had engaged in a thoughtful discussion with Karith Foster at the 2022 Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) conference that the fog had begun to clear in new ways.
Karith is the Founder of Inversity Solutions, an educational organization aimed at encouraging diversity as a means for peak human productivity.
“It’s not just communication, it’s comprehension,” she states. “Having a mutual respect for someone else is what true diversity is… and this is the enemy of people who want to control everything.”
Any true entrepreneur knows that they do not have all the answers. However, Karith’s answers helped us to realize the importance of creating Brave spaces, as opposed to Safe spaces.
In this discussion, we explore how the TCV Community is a Brave space and how such an environment can facilitate the true potential of crypto adoption.

I shared with Karith, “… the vast majority of crypto is siloed into different cultures and groups of people that don’t communicate with each other.”
This is especially evident as seen with the Hash War of BTC hard forks in 2017 that is still ongoing today!
She was able to identify right away how this lack of honest transparency and collaboration can do more harm than good for the progress of blockchain tech.
“You have to be brave, you have to be courageous enough to say I don’t have all the answers. You have to be open to hear what everyone else has to say even if you don’t like it,” she affirms.
