Does Crypto Enable Privacy or Transparency? Why Not Both? [VIDEO]

These days it can seem like everyone is living in hiding. People hide their faces, their identities, and their assets, obscuring everything. It’s almost like a new dark age.

Indeed, we cannot have light without darkness, and perhaps it’s the same with cryptography

For those of us who embrace our fundamental human right to privacy, we’ve had private cryptocurrency – the most prominent being Monero (XMR) – and now we have Pirate Chain (ARRR). We have all the privacy tools we need at our disposal, and The Crypto Vigilante (SUBSCRIBE) will teach you how to apply these tools to your life.

The beautiful thing is that crypto is genuinely for everyone, not just programmers or business people. I believe cryptography is for every individual on Earth. I also think we will apply crypto to almost everything in life, so it is a tool for operating “in the dark” and providing transparency and accountability when necessary.

Some privacy advocates, including most of our analysts at The Crypto Vigilante (SUBSCRIBE), suggest that both Monero and Pirate Chain are capable of offering this.

My first love was philosophy – it is why I do what I do. Lady philosophy informs us about the equilibrium of nature as it is.

What is the basis of anarcho-capitalism and libertarianism? Is it the N.A.P. (the Non-Aggression Principle)? Is it the Golden Rule? This foundation of justice represents the light. The power of light for our society is to embrace ethics and people rather than just concepts.

The way I see it, as anarcho-capitalists, we embrace both darkness and light. Anarchy is like the darkness, so to speak, and capitalism is the light. In Taoism, this is yin and yang. There is an incredible balance throughout everything in the universe, which makes life itself possible.

Bitcoin itself also shares this fascinating duality, like light and darkness. In name, it is composed of the words “bit” and “coin.” For too long, many have focused on the “coin” part of the equation.  Yet, it is the “bit” part, the computational power of Bitcoin, that holds the secrets of the light.

I’ve said this before, and it bears repeating. To understand Bitcoin is to realize that miners, with their proof of work, are the owners, not the bouncers, of the Bitcoin club. It is a full-fledged meritocracy, and this meritocracy stemming from radical capitalism can win the war against evil. Why? Because this network comes with computational power for extreme entrepreneurship, with the miners as your business partners, which will unleash the creative energies of humanity.

Free-market capitalists will solve our political problems. In communist China, people carry smartphones. That’s a product and tool of capitalism empowering individuals to challenge the ideas of socialist collectivization directly. Nation-states are already getting in on cryptocurrency as the early adopters begin to see it as profitable.

The masses will come for the Lambo, but many will stay for the revolution.

From my perspective, Satoshi looked far ahead of the short term with a long-term vision. The target was not Wall Street or the financial industry, but Big Tech. The real competition for crypto is in Silicon Valley. This is all evident in the Nakamoto Consensus.

So what can you do? How can you take advantage of all this? I believe that with the computational power of Bitcoin’s original protocol at scale, you can start a business on the blockchain today that can compete directly with the likes of Google and Amazon.

My talk at Anarchapulco 2021 unpacked all of this. I explained how and why blockchain offers us much more than just a digital coin. Indeed, this technology may be the proverbial light we’ve needed to help save our modern world from dystopia.
